Dr. Wyatt is an associate professor in Cal State-Fullerton's Communicative Disorders program. She has presented many workshops throughout the country on the topic of multicultural concerns and is a former member of ASHA's Multicultural Issues Board and CSHA's task force on the Assessment of the African-American Child.
After viewing this tape you will, among other things, understand what African-American English (AAE) is and know the linguistic domains, phonological and grammatical features associated with it. Furthermore, appreciation for the historical origins of AAE will be gained as well as an understanding of regional variations and their primary differences.
